Catherine Sexton Beasley of Independence, MO, passed away October 22, 2002, at Independence Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 26, at the Park Lawn Chapel, Hillcrest Road at 83rd Street; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Cassie was one of four children born to Nellie and Arch Sexton. She was born in Clarksville, AR. The family later settled in Kansas City. She worked in the purchasing office for National Bellas Hess for a number of years and later was a billing clerk for Sexton Metalcraft, where she worked for 14 years before she retired. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Cassie was preceded in death by a son, Michael. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Floyd E. "Gene" Beasley; son and daughter-inlaw, Galen and Deanna Beasley; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Jean and Donald Lamb; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leland and Vera Sexton and Lowell and Lorene Sexton; many nieces and nephews; and two grandsons she adored, Michael and Bradley Beasley. Cassie suffered many illnesses but remained strong and determined with the deep faith in God. She will be deeply missed by all. (Arrangements: Park Lawn Funeral Home, 816-523-1234)
