Mrs. Bernice (Parrish) Irby, age 94, of Denison, Texas passed away on Monday February 19, 2018. She was born April 12, 1923 in Gordonville, Texas. Bernice married the love of her life Lyndol Irby in a double ceremony with her sister Wilma in their mothers flower garden on May 1, 1943, officiated by Lyndol's father. Bernice and Lyndol moved to the Denison area in 1960, where they retired from the Denison Independent School District. Bernice held her Bachelors and her Masters Degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. She held positions as both teacher and librarian. Bernice was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Red Hats, and a volunteer at TMC. Lyndol and Bernice were active members of Parkside Baptist Church.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Lyndol D. Irby; daughter Pamela Jean Irby; and son Lyndol D. Irby; sister Margaret Wilma Nabors; granddaughter Tressi Irby, grandson Trey Irby and great granddaughter Lillie Brown.
Bernice was preceded in death by; brother Jessie Jean Parrish; brother Hoyt Neal Parrish and brother Billy Parrish.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21st at 6:00 pm at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, TX. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday February 22 at Parkside Baptist Church.
