Roger Becker, 82, passed away on November 2, 2018. Roger was born in St. Louis, MO, on October 22, 1936 to George Herman Becker and Gladys Marie (Finn) Becker. He later lived and worked in Illinois prior to retiring in Oklahoma City. He attended college in Missouri and Illinois and graduated from the FAA Air Traffic Control Academy in 1969. He retired as an Area Manager from the FAA ARTCC – Chicago in 2000.

Post-retirement, he continued to serve his country as a civilian contractor to the US Navy and Air Force including assignments in Afghanistan totaling more than one year. Upon his return, he continued his extended career with Midwest Aviation in Overland Park, KS as an air traffic control instructor, ultimately retiring in 2008.

Roger was a Master Mason in the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, raised to this esteemed third degree of Masonry in 1962 at Beacon Lodge No. 3, in Hazelwood, MO. He later affiliated with Uriah Lodge No. 227 in Wheatland, OK and India Lodge No. 551 in Oklahoma City where he served as Worshipful Master in 2015. He continued his Masonic pursuits, attaining the thirty-second degree in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, was a Shriner and active member of India Shrine and the Oriental Band unit as well as being an active member and leader within other affiliated organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, children Mark, Paula, Angela, Georgia, Maria and Bill, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Jean and Helen.

Services will be held at Mercer Adams Funeral Service (3925 N. Asbury, Bethany OK., 73008) with a visitation on Thursday, November 8; 6-8pm and a memorial service on Friday at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
