Mrs Cynthia Abbott, a former resident of Hamilton died in the hospital at Emporia, Monday morning, June 30.
she had been in the hospital several weeks as she had been in poor health the past three years. She was well and favorably known to Hamilton People for many years and her passing was regretted by those who know her so well.

Cynthia Abbott
Cynthia Abbott, daughter of the late Samuel Hoffacre and Mary Updegraff Hoffacre was born at Jayness, Mich. June 17, 1876. She was married to Andrew J. Abbott of Mason City, IA, at Kansas City, MO, on November 2, 1902. Mr. and Mrs. Abbott located in Madison where they lived until February 1908, when they moved to a farm southwest where they lived until Mr. Abbott passed away on February 26, 1925.
They were the parents of four children, Maurice J. of El Dorado, Mrs. Geo. W. Smith of Emporia, Andrew D. of San Francisco. She is survived by three children and grandchildren. A daughter Ruth, died in infancy. Two sisters and a brother living in Mason City, IA; a sister Mrs. T. J. Willjong, living at Russell, Minn., and several nieces and nephews. Mother and father, one sister and three brothers having passed away previously.
