Mrs. Hughie Hudson, age 92 of Covington passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was born May 18, 1926 to Hugh and Lelia King who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Hudson was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her life. Mrs. Hudson was an active member of First Presbyterian Church for 85 years. She taught children in Sunday School, taught and helped with Bible School and youth groups, taught an adult class and was superintendent of the Beginners Department, sang in the choir, and worked in the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet. Mrs. Hudson worked as the Vocational Secretary at the then Newton County Comprehensive High School and then secretary to the superintendent for over 20 years before she retired. After retirement Hughie became a member of the Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Hudson is preceded in death by her husband, Foster Hudson; sister and brother-in-law, Alyce and Ralph Adams. She is survived by her children, Lelia and Dennis Raines, Hugh and Charlie Hudson; grandchildren, Kingsley Allen, Mandi and Aaron Roberts, Dustin and Sam Kimball; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Hudson, Hadley, Aarley, and Amelia, along with numerous other family and close friends.A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Hudson at 11:30 Monday, November 4, 2018 at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Dan Walden officiating.
