James "Jim" Burge

James "Jim" Lee Burge, 85, Navy veteran and business owner passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, after a brief illness surrounded by those he loved. Jim was a proud father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. Known to all those who loved him as granddaddy. Jim was born November 13, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV, but had been a resident of Tulsa and most recently Broken Arrow since 1968. Preceded in death by Carol, his loving wife of 61 years. They owned and operated Micro X-ray Service, Inc. Once retired Jim continued to stay active and started the J.L Burge Co. Inc., a computer and electronics recycling company. Jim is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Chuck Lamson; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lori Burge; grandchildren, Andrew Lamson, Nikki Schack (Weston), Jennifer Chapman, Jessica Cordt (Chris); great grandchildren, Bella Mason, Salem Franklin, Abbott and Campbell Cordt. Jim is also survived by sister, Donna Rawlings (Ted) and family; brother, Max Burge and family;m sisters-in-law, Libby Burge and family, Ann Jenkins and family, and Jane McClain and family. Jim was also loved by numerous long time friends of his children. Jim was an avid fan of the OU Football Sooners, never missing a televised game. He could cheer and cuss his Sooners with the best of them. Granddaddy (Jim) will be missed by all, but is once again reuniting with Carol (Nanny), which gives comfort to all. In honor of his wishes, no services will be held. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
