She was born in Liberty, Pa., the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Margaret (Riddle) Beatty. She was raised in Liberty, Pa., on a typical Pennsylvania farm and graduated from Grove City High School. She later graduated from the School of Nursing at Columbia Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa.
She joined the Army Nurse Corp and served during the Korean conflict at the Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Anna Imogene Beatty and Donald Edward Jordan were married in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, on June 30, 1950. They made their home in a number of locations, Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and subsequently Maine.
In the early years, she was very involved with volunteer efforts that were focused on providing comfort to those in various hospitals. Her husband, Don, had a career that involved a considerable amount of travel, so she had her hands full being head of the household with three boys who were in constant need of supervision and guidance.
After moving to Maine, she was very busy and totally focused on the renovation of the Jordan's Elmridge Farm in Livermore, while she worked as a discharge coordinator at Franklin Memorial Hospital for more than 10 years.
Raising Scottish Highland cattle and vegetable gardening and making maple syrup were among the many joys she shared with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Jordan of Livermore; three sons, Charles Jordan of Manchester, and his ex-wife, Karen Williams-Jordan, of New Sharon, James Jordan, and his wife, Robin, of Farmington and David Jordan, and his partner, Noreen Cremin, of Rochester, N.H.; two brothers, Kenneth Beatty, and his wife, Jackie, of Slippery Rock, Pa. and Grover Beatty of Liberty, Pa.; three granddaughters, Alanna, Kelly and Amanda; three grandsons, Michael, Jared and Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Maxine Beatty; and two brothers, Ralph and Donald Beatty.
