Parents: George Queen & Jane Stephenson [mother died 1872 in Guelph ON]
Stepmother: Agnes Murray

George came to Canada abt 1858 with parents and older sister Catherine (next sibling Robert born in Canada)
George was enumerated with his parents in Galt, Waterloo County in 1861 (as "Quin"), in Guelph, Wellington County, in 1871, and in Newcastle, Durham County, in 1881. George, already living in Toronto, and Ida married in 1889 in her hometown of Georgetown, Halton County
In 1891 and 1901, George and his family were enumerated in Toronto. In 1911, they were enumerated in Stratford, Perth County.

Birth date and place: There is a "Scotland, Select Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950" record for a George Queen, with the right parent names, born 14 Oct 1856 at Wilton, Roxburgh, Scotland. Later records have birthplace Hawick Scotland [sometimes mis-spelled Howick]. That's not a discrepancy, as according to Wikipedia: "Wilton is a parish in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, comprising the part of Hawick north of the Teviot. Formerly a separate burgh, it was merged with the burgh of Hawick in the 19th century. "
However, the Oct 1856 date conflicts with other records: 1901 Canada census has birth date 20 Dec 1854, 1911 census has Dec 1858, Florida death certificate has Dec 15 1856. Even the gravestone age would have the birth month be Dec. As to year, 1861, 1871 and 1881 censuses have ages (4,14,24) consistent with birth in 1857.
