Janice Arlene Hansen 70 passed away peacefully on september 12 1980 at Baudette Mn,Janice was born May 11 1938 to Olof and Vera Olson in Carp Minnesota,Jan attended her first 8 grades in Carp school,She attended her high school years in Baudette At a very early age she knew she wanted to go into the nursing profession,After high school graduation in 1956 ,she attended nurses training school in duluth and she began her 45 year career as a registered nurse.Jan and Richard (Bud)Hansen were married on June 4th 1960 at the first lutheran church in Baudette,they were blessed with three children;Mark,Darcy and Neal and two granchildren. Jan worked at the Baudette hospital for a couple years before moving to Alaska with family,While in Alaska Jan worked Providence Hospital in Anchorage.The family also had the experience of the big Alaskan Earthquake in 1964.On returning home in 1967,Jan began working the trinity hospital until her retirement in 2005.Jan was the operating supervisor for a number of years.She loved her work and was very dedicated to her profession,friends will also remember her permanent smile,her generous heart,her fun loving and non judgemental personality,her wonderful cooking an baking talents,her nurturing skills,her love of life and most of all her love of her home and family. Jan is preceded in death by her grandparents,parents and infant sister,Darlene and Aunts and Uncles. She is survived bur her husband Bud;son Mark (Maryann)daughter Darcy of Antiock California,and son Neal (Janet)Baudette,her brother Larry (Eileen),sister Karen (Stephen) Hanson and many cousins nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2pm Wednesday September 17th, 2008 in Baudette Minnesota. Helgeson funeral home are entrusted with funeral arrangements
