A.C. Ball

POUNDING MILL, Va.-Mr. A.C. Ball, age 65, of Route 1, passed away
Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at his home following a long illness.
Born in Tazewell County, he was the son of Mrs. Rosa Bell Ball Lester of
the Paintlick section of Tazewell County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and
was a disabled coal miner. He was a member of VFW Post 9696 at
Bluefield, Va. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lester, and
his grandparents, Roy and Carrie Ball.
He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Harman and husband Larry of
Paintlick, Faye Hall and husband Ronnie of Albemarle, N.C., and Virginia
Ruth Hughes of Mt. Airy, N.C.; three sons, Ronnie Ball and wife Debbie of
Tazewell, Va., William Ball and wife Kristi of Dallas, N.C., and Steve Ball
and wife Dana of Richlands; his mother and stepfather, Rosa and George
Lester of Paintlick; one brother, R.J. Lester and wife Ann of Belfast, Va.;
seven grandchildren and a special friend, Dale Brown, also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at 2 p.m. at
the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, with Rev. Roger Lester
and Rev. Squire Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory
Gardens at Claypool, Va. Pallbearers will be Larry Harman, Troy Horn, Dale
Brown, Greg Lester, John Simms and Kevin Brown. Honorary pallbearers will
be Stanley Barnett, Pete Ball and Randall McCracken. Casey-Short VFW
Post 9640 and Tazewell County Chapter 31 DAV will conduct military
graveside rites.
