Obituary for Matthew Edward Collins
Matthew Edward Collins was born December 8, 1989, to David Edward and Laura Elaine in Bakersfield, California, and left us peacefully July 30, 2016. He attended all local schools in the Fruitvale School District, graduating from Liberty High School in 2008. He lived his life to the fullest, a happy, most giving person you would ever have met. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved the outdoors and family gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing and going to his dad's cabin, where he and his dad spent many hours together. We all loved to go there for a day trip target shooting. Matthew was very stubborn and always argued his way. He was a wonderful cook, and he always said, "Mom, you taught me how to do that." Boy, will we all miss his cooking.

He has left behind his mother and father; a sister, Julie Anne Collins; a niece and nephew; his stepfather, Doyle Bilyeu, who was very close to him, who loved him with all his heart. Can't forget his Auntie Louise and Mama Tracy; one living grandparent, Grandpa John; and his Uncle Mike Collins; his cousins, aunts, uncles, and many loving family and friends whom he cherished dearly. Also his beloved dog Joe and other furry pets. He is also dancing with our loving angels in Heaven, his Grandma Gloria, Grandma Phyllis, Grandpa Larry, and Uncle Bryce.

He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts and daily lives. There will never be a day where you won't be on our minds. We love you, Matthew, until we meet again. Love, your Mom, Dad, Family, and Friends.

Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3700 River Blvd., with a viewing on Monday, August 8, 2016, from 4-8 p.m., and a chapel service on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. There will be a gathering following the service, at 9715 Glenn Street.
