He is preceded in death by his sister, Sheri Marie Curtice, Step-father, Jack Walter Stout, grandmother, Eula Gann, and father, James F. Black.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Stout, previous wife Charlene Black & step-children, Joey Couch and Daniel Couch, brothers, Randall Gene Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.
During his teenage years he was given the nickname "Curly" he was known around town as "Uncle Jim" and everyone loved him dearly. He enjoyed his rock and roll & blues music, camping, fishing, and attending shows at the star club and other local clubs.
Jim was a plumber and he enjoyed his work. He spent some time in Alaska he lived in La Grange, Winnemucca, Nevada and he currently resided in Atwater, California. He spent his last ten years living with his friend Eileen George.
He was a country boy and was always known for his sayings and greetings such as: "Has anyone told you that you're beautiful today" or "Has anyone told you that they loved you? Well I just did". He had a remarkable sense of humor and was very witty. He will forever be missed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater followed by a Graveside service at 1:00 pm at Winton District Cemetery in Winton.
