York - Robert W. "Skip" Tomlinson, age 85, of York, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at ManorCare York-North. Born in York on October 2, 1933, he was the son of the late William R. and Romaine (Gotwalt) Tomlinson. Skip was the loving husband of Mary Jane (Lawrence) Tomlinson; to whom he was married for 59 years.

Skip was a 1952 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He went onto serve his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Skip was a self-employed entrepreneur operating Tomlinson's Auction Service and later in life Skip's Hauling Service, earning him the nickname "Junkman".

Skip was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of many York area Veterans and social clubs. Skip enjoyed collecting a variety of items and having yard sales. Skip also immensely enjoyed his time "at the mountains' which was his cabin located in Franklin County. A place where he combined work and pleasure. Working with a local flea market to sell his collectibles, yet still finding time for rest, relaxation and enjoying fun times with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by family and friends who will fondly remember him as a man who "did things his way".
