Because of his musical talent and compassion for kids, Jim received many "Teacher of the Year" awards. As one student put it, "This past year has been a challenge to him personally. He has taught us more than how to hold a bow, or count a beat or read a music note. More importantly he has taught us...'when life hands you the wrong sheet music, you keep playing on.' " He will be remembered for his deep love for Christ and his love of music and travel.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kelly Kracht Rosenquist; son, Joel Johnson of Lincoln; parents, Richard and Marie Rosenquist of Geneva; brother, Russell and wife Janet of Omaha; and brother, Terry and wife Julie of Hastings.
His celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 18, at First Evangelical Free Church in Lincoln.
