Donna Opal Illum Bertagnolli, our sweet, mom, grandma, and great-grandma passed away November 1, 2018 at home with her four children by her side, Mom fought a long and hard battle with cancer! She was born November 9, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Lillie Lucinda Peterson and Carston Elevious Illum.

Donna worked for and retired from Internal Revenue Service.

Donna married Leno P. Bertagnolli on December 16, 1949. With her marriage to Leno she became a step mother of three children. Donna and Leno had four additional children after they were married.

Surviving are her four children, Christine Gough, Debra (Keith) Davis, Allen (Leah) Bertagnolli, and Janet Bertagnolli; her step children, Shirley Fackrell, Stanley (Berniece) Bertagnolli, and Marilyn (Jim) Fries; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, with 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; 9 step grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren, and several step great-great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years in June 2007. Donna was one of 11 children and is survived by two sisters, Ruby Woodward and Eva Helms.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Mom was very caring. Always concerned for others well being with loving thoughts. Thank you to all her caregivers and neighbors for all your thoughts and prayers.
