Alexander Russell age 93 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Paul B Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was born December 23, 1924 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Grover and Maryann Montgomery Russell. He was the husband of Alkie Phipps Russell, who preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife and parents, Alexander is preceded in death by three sons, Jimmy Russell, Steven Russell, and Calvin Russell, five brothers, Arnold Russell, Arvil Russell, Fred Russell, Herman Russell, and Charlie Russell, three sisters, Hassie Montgomery, Falkie Jenkins, and Southie Montgomery, and one granddaughter, Bridgette Howard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 from the Head of Coon Creek Church. Burial will follow in the Russell Cemetery at Lacy Ridge, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6 pm Friday, November 2, 2018, all day Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Head of Coon Creek Church, and anytime Sunday prior to funeral services at the church.
