Maurice Jackson was born June 19, 1938 in Shelby County to the late Samuel and Mamie Jackson. He attended McClelland School. Maurice was a member of the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Bland Lake. Life came to a close on October 23, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas. He was preceded in death by; his parents; son, Marvin Jackson; four sisters, Velma Jackson, Aziet Jackson, Hortence Teal, and Sally Jenkins; two brothers, Richard Jackson and Willie Jackson.
Maurice Jackson leaves to cherish his memory; his lifelong friend, Lois Ray Jones of San Augustine, Texas; three sons, Lenard Jackson (Pamela) and Robert Jackson (Alice Holmes) both of San Augustine, Texas, and Mark Anthony Jones (KK Bates Jones) of Lufkin, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis “Nick” Jackson of San Augustine, Texas; one sister, Mozell Smith of Center, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
