Faye Pauline Stewart, 88, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington with Pastor Marc Price officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Faye was born November 20, 1929 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Edith Flora and Charles Farley. She was also greeted in Heaven by her husband, Donald Stewart, daughter, Nan Daniels, sisters, Peggy Ferguson and Jean Isenberg, and brothers, George Farley and Sonny Boy Flora. She worked hard and earned her GED after having to quit school in the 8th grade to stay home and help her mother raise her siblings. She was a stay at home mother for many years. She was a member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. She was a retired Cabell County school cook and a member of the Cabell County Cooks Association, worked as a camp counselor, nurse and cook for many years at WV South Church of the Nazarene Campground in Summerville, WV. Worked at K Mart Cafeteria, Civic Center and MU concessions, Piece Goods Shop and Mil's Fabrics. She survived cancer multiple times. Two years ago, on the Sunday morning prior to her final cancer surgery she was feeling particularly hopeless and afraid. While standing in church listening to the song "Wonderful Peace" she felt God's loving presence. At that moment, she knew she would survive the surgery and go on to tell others about the peace she received from God. Her peace story continues to be told and has been a comfort to many. After another short illness she has moved to her home in Heaven. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Stone and Deborah (Jim) Forth all of Huntington, two sons, Rex (Christine) Stewart of Cincinnati, OH, and David (Tonya) Stewart of Huntington, a son-in-law, Lynn Daniels of Huntington, 11 grandchildren, Michael Daniels, Katrina (Jerry) Zornes, Misty McQuaid, Ian, Sean, Tyler and Courtney Stewart, Caitlin and Hannah Stewart, David (Elizabeth) Forth and Michael (Leah) Forth, 10 great grandchildren, Dr. Trey Cole and Nicholas, Riley and Harrison Zornes, Mekhia McQuaid, Parker and Lylah Berry, Dawson, Dakotah and Olivia Forth, siblings, Sue Glass, Dorothy (Glen) Ward, Bert (Lucy) Flora and Ted Flora and she was loved by many others. The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff who took such good care of her over the years.
