Derek Levy Parks , 32, passed away on September 14, 2018 in Tallahassee FL. Derek was born March 5, 1986 in Madison, Florida to Terry Levy Parks and Mrs. Sherry Mims Brown.

Derek honorably served our country in the United States Army during Dec. 2004 thru May 2006. Derek was of the Baptist faith and attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Derek worked with Desloge Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment for 2 years.

Derek was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ellen Mims and Arlene Brown.

Derek is survived by his parents Gordon and Sherry Brown & Terry and Kim Parks. Grandparents Marvin and Thelma Henry, Grandfather Von Brown. Sisters Kesha (Leon) Herring, Kacy (Logan) Padgett, and brother Ty Parks, 5 nephews, 1 niece and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Kacy Padgett officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Pisgah Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
