Ralph Johnson, 81, of Clarksdale, Mo., passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at his home after fighting a brave battle with cancer and dementia.
Ralph was born in Island City, Mo., to Sammie W. and Mary Alice (Smith) Johnson, on April 6, 1937.
He went to High school in Stanberry, Mo., and after graduating, worked for Gustin Bacon Fiberglass in Kansas City, and then for Armour’s in St. Joseph, for 21 years, and later for Washington Twsp. in Dekalb Co., for 29 years.
Ralph was also a lifetime farmer and member of the Island City Christian Church.
In 1964 He married the love of his life, Mary Alice Huber. To this union four children were born. Linda, Gene, and Brian Johnson, and Teresa Colhour, three grandchildren, Bradley (Kylie) Crowley, and Samantha and Patrick Johnson, one great grandchild, Katherine Leigham Crowley, and two step great granddaughters, Adasyn and Brilynn.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lloyd and Jim, and a sister, Doris Hill.
In addition to being survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by two brothers, Wallace (Lillie) Johnson, and Virgil (Jane) Johnson,
two sisters, Ann Jones, and Lois Hawkins, sister in law, Betty Johnson, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, that were with him till the end, including, Carl and George Kimble, Ival Snow, Shane DeWilde, Jim and Linda Turner, Roberta Parent, Matt and Gina Jundy, Marvin and Debbie Godsey, and Bob and Mary Jones.
