Billie Jean Daniel was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 2, 1932, to William Evert Drake and Ora Milligan Drake. She died in January 22, 2018, several days after suffering a stroke. Billie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. Early in her career, she was a clerical worker for local businesses, including several years at Frito Lay. Billie was highly praised for her exceptionally efficient skills as an administrated assistant for Lakeside Baptist Church for 35 years, now called LakePointe Church. One of her longtime supervisors, Larry Negron, will perform the service for her celebration of life. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanda Dreason, and brother Zane Drake. She is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Oretta and Ray Lewis, in-laws Henry Dreesen and Shirley Drake, son and daughter Mike and Julie Daniel, daughter-in-law Diane Daniel, granddaughter and her husband, Alison and Darin Buscher, grandson and his wife Paul and Julie Daniel, three great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. A Celebration of Life will held on Thursday, January 25th at 2:00 p.m at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas. Visitation will precede the service at 1:00 at the same location. Interment will follow the service at Grove Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a senior adult ministry which Billie was excited to support, called “Triple L” for “Live Longer and Like It”.
