Charlotte Marie Siedlyk Thompson, 91, Topeka, Kansas, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Charlotte was born on the family farm in St. Edward, Nebraska, January 4, 1927, to John and Stella Kosiski Siedlyk.

Charlotte graduated from St. Edward High School in 1945 and moved to Omaha. She worked four years at Mutual of Omaha and it was during this time she met the love of her life, Lyle Thompson, while dancing at the Shermont Ballroom. They were married June 5, 1948. In 1954, Lyle and Charlotte moved to Topeka.

Charlotte was a wonderful stay-at-home mother. She volunteered at Most Pure Heart of Mary School and after moving to Christ the King Parish was involved with funeral dinners and Perpetual Adoration. Charlotte belonged to a neighborhood coffee club for over 60 years and the same bridge group more than 40 years.

Charlotte was a gentle spirit, devout Catholic, loyal friend, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was fiercely proud of her Polish heritage. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 61 years, grandson, Jacob Thompson, parents and two sisters, Frances Slovenske and Kathleen Lively.

She is survived by seven children, Brett Thompson (Juli) Palm Desert CA, Betty Dolan (Bruce), Susan Chilson (Rod), James Thompson (Vicky), Mike Thompson (Katie), Scott Thompson (Carrie) and Mark Thompson, all of Topeka.

Sixteen grandchildren, Brian Thompson (Robin) Overland Park, Paula DeRosa (Steve) Irvine CA, Kelly Anderson, Tujunga CA, Rachel Kelly (Tom), San Pedro CA, Aaron Dolan (Nicky) Oregon WI, Rachelle Kircher (Eric) Olathe, Shelby Chilson, Katy TX, Tyler Chilson (Paige) Salina, Scot Thompson, Topeka, Justin Thompson, Kansas City, Jessica Thompson, Kansas City, Jennifer Hall (Landry) Topeka, Ryan Thompson (Kristin) Norfolk VA, Josh Thompson (Scott), Lawrence, Brittany Barber (Daniel) Beijing China, and Hayley Thompson, Topeka; eight great-grandchildren.

Also survived by a brother, Leon Siedlyk, Omaha; sister, Lorraine Troupe (Tom) Omaha; brother-in-law, Dwaine Lively, Murrietta CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Great Lakes Caring Hospice, Lexington Park Assisted Living and Rolling Hills Assisted Living for the wonderful care provided our Mom the last few years. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Sunday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Ministry to the Aging or Great Lakes Caring Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
