Mr. Mitchell was born March 22, 1933, in Upper Tract, W.Va. and was the son of the late Ina May Kesner and late Charles Mitchell. He is also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Stanley served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War. He was a graduate from Franklin High School in West Virginia and retired from Reynolds Metals in 1990 after a long career in plant operation and management. Mr. Mitchell was a member of South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren in Upper Tract.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Janet R. Mitchell, a daughter Florinda “Rennie” Mitchell McAllister; a son, R. Todd Mitchell and wife Donna; two granddaughters , Heather Mitchell Cropper and husband Will, III, and Allison Todd Mitchell and one great-granddaughter Sutton Elizabeth Cropper, all of Richmond.
By his request all services will be private. He will be buried at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
