Joan E. Webb, 99, passed away July 10, 2017. She and her twin sister were born on March 22, 1918 in Syracuse area to Albert and Winifred Strowbridge. She married Morris R. Smeader on September 26, 1942 and together they had 3 children, Raymond, Janis, and Gerry. After Morris's death in 1975, Joan remarried to Donald Webb on April 1, 1978. Joan retired from a civilian position with the U.S. Navy. Joan cherished her family and hosted many family gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards, tennis, golf, shuffleboard, sewing, bike riding, and her winter home in Zephyr Hills, Florida.
Joan is survived by her 3 children, Raymond Smeader, Janis Lougnot, Gerry (Nena) Smeader, and step daughter Margaret (Peggy) Shannon. 9 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are at Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, Monday, July 17, from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday morning at 10 AM.
