“Mourning the loss of our sister, Deb, this morning. She was an amazing mother, daughter, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman who walked and lived with Christian faith. In November, 2013, as our nephew, Adam lay in a coma prior to his death; we talked of God and matters of faith. She told me then that she was prepared to meet her Maker, not knowing that less than one month later she would be diagnosed with aggressive tcell lymphoma and be fighting for her life. We are eternally grateful to the doctors and medical staff who fought the battle alongside her and gave her the gift of nearly five additional years of life. During this time, she and her husband, Jim were blessed with the opportunity to see their eldest daughter, Stacy, marry Jeremy; to welcome their two granddaughters, Josie and Lucy; to see their middle daughter, Michelle, become engaged to the love of her life, Terrel; and the joy of seeing their youngest daughter, Katie, realize her potential as a Nuclear Med Tech at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cancer may have robbed her of her physical body, but her spirit and legacy of love, strength, hope and faith in a merciful God will remain with those of us who mourn her loss along with the aching void she leaves behind.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for former things are passed away.”
