Chester Raymond Chaffin, 81, of Henry Cooper Rd. in Lucasville, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at his son’s home in Lutz, Florida. He was born March 4, 1937 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Henry Effie Cooper Chaffin. Surviving are his sons, Mark Chaffin and wife Nancy of Lutz, Florida, George Chaffin and wife Marsha of Galloway, Ohio, Henry Chaffin of Columbus, Ohio, Raybo Frank of Leigh High Acres, Florida, Jim Rigney and wife Tammy of Lucasville, Ohio, and Robert Leslie and Cecil Leslie of Lucasville; a daughter Judy McClary and husband Bob of West Union, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and brothers Lawrence, Roy and Terry Chaffin. In addition to his parents Chester was preceded in death by four brothers, Mitchell, John, Charles and Larry Chaffin; two sisters, Lucy Riley and Sadie Ann Hudson; wives, Jean, Cynthia, and Kathleen Chaffin; a daughter, Jane Johnson; and a grandson, Justin Ellis.
Chester was a road supervisor for Scioto County Department of Transportation for many years and attended McCullough Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 at McCullough Baptist Church in Lucasville, Ohio with Pastor Bob Davis and Roy Chaffin officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 1st at McCullough Baptist Church and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Chester was a road supervisor for Scioto County Department of Transportation for many years and attended McCullough Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 at McCullough Baptist Church in Lucasville, Ohio with Pastor Bob Davis and Roy Chaffin officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 1st at McCullough Baptist Church and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
