Charlotte M. Jones, age 92 of Hastings, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018, at Park Ridge Assisted Living in Hastings.
Charlotte Marion, the daughter of Ralph and Eva (Jordan) Ginger, was born on October 12, 1926, in Langdon, Iowa. Following her graduation from Spencer High School with the class of 1945, Charlotte was united in marriage to Robert L. Jones on May 5, 1946, in Langdon. As a military family, Charlotte and Robert moved on a regular basis which allowed her to be a dedicated homemaker. They enjoyed dancing and traveling together as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and by her siblings, Gertrude, Genevieve, Robert and Dwayne.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Susan (Darrel) Grouette, Cindy (Richard) Dorniden, and Sheryl (Donald) Martin; grandchildren, Robert (significant other, Laura) Grouette, Bryan (significant other, Hope) Grouette, Valerie Dorniden, Joshua (Heather) Dorniden,William (Kristi) Dorniden, Nicolaus (Kristal) Martin, Tracy (Matthew) Lemon, and Tamara (Shawn) Hildebrand; great grandchildren, Johnathan (Holly), James, Jeremy (significant other Bianca), Rylee, Beckett, Henry, Gunnar, Tanner, McKenzie, Cooper, Kailer, Emalee, Sydney, Simeon, Eli, and Shelby; great-great grandchildren, Lance, Bentley, Lillian and Darrel; sister, Theresa and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in memory of Charlotte.
