Bob was born to Horace Boyd Bearden and Tennie Fae McElhannon. He grew up in East Texas and moved to Idaho Falls in 1957. He and Donna were married on November 18, 1960, in the Idaho Falls Temple, and they raised three children. Bob worked as a contractor and consultant at DOE for 40 years and as a Physicist, Nuclear Safety Engineer and fire protection engineer. Donna passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Bob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His church assignments included High Counselor, Bishoprics, High Priest Group Leader, Elders Quorum President, Scoutmaster and various other callings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hunting, computers and photography. Survivors included: son Michael Dean (Annette) Bearden of Pleasant Grove, UT; daughter Stacey Jean Bearden Dubois of Star, ID; son-in-law Jim Leany of Cedar Hills UT; sister Nelda June Walker of El Paso, TX; and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Preceding were daughter Wendy Lynne Bearden Leany and brother Joe Mack Bearden. Graveside services held November 3rd.
