Steven “Steve” Michael Rose, 63, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Michigan Medical in Ann Arbor.

In following Steve’s wishes, he has donated his body to science at the University of Michigan. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am Friday, November 2, 2018 at Northview Christian Church in Coldwater with Pastor Jeff Bream officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.

Steven was born February 9, 1955 in Kalamazoo. After graduation from high school he began his working career spending 15 years as a truck driver for Behnke Trucking in Battle Creek and more recently 7 years at Asama Manufacturing before retiring due to health reasons. On June 27, 1987, he married Paula Vettel in Grand Rapids, and loved her two children as his own.

Steve was a long-time member of Northview Christian Church and also the Teamster’s Trucking Union. He was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Lions & Tigers, as well as the University of Michigan. Steve really enjoyed watching horror movies and loved music. He had a soft spot for animals.

Steve’s true joy in life was spending time with his family, attending sporting and other events for his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for being a “big kid” and enjoying life.

Steven is survived by his wife of 31 years, Paula Rose of Coldwater; his mother Judy Rose of Grand Rapids; his children David (Elizabeth) Snyder of Coldwater, Jason Rose of Grand Rapids, and Michelle (Kirke) Best of Henderson, TX; his daughter-in-law Dawn Rose of Muskegon; his siblings Charles (Marlene) Rose of Greenville, Eugene Eastway of AZ, Douglas (Carol) Eastway of PA, and Kelly (Raul) Hernandez of AZ; his grandchildren Zachary, Katrina, Tayton, Korbin, Carson, Hailey, Mariah, Caleb, and Mack; his dog Abby and his cats Squishy & Tickles.
