Freda L. Brown, 84, of Greenville, WV, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 28, 2018, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a long illness. Freda was a member of Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle since 1963. She loved shopping with her daughters, spending time with her mother, cooking for her family, watching her favorite soap operas, going to church, and baby sitting her grandchildren.

She was born on April 3, 1934, at Little Harts Creek, a daughter of the late Dewey Vance (Deceased) and Sarah Elizabeth Adkins-Vance (Deceased). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Wilfred Brown (1927-1981) whom she married on May 1, 1954 in Hunt, Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1954, Page 54, Application Date: April 24, 1954); two brothers, Jack Vance (Deceased) and Bobby Vance (Deceased).

Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Barry Brown of Greenville, Carmella Brown-Bailey & husband Chester Bailey Jr. of Accoville, and Cheryl Brown-Dye & husband Randy Dye of Verner; two brothers, Thomas Franklin Vance of Greenville and James Vance of Poplar Bluff, MO; five grandchildren, Jessica Brown and her fiancé, Cody and Michael Brown & wife Evelyn Brown and their mother, Marie McCallister, Sarah Beth Bailey, Jacob Bailey, and Randy Codye Dye; two great-grandchildren, Braxton Brown and Kolten Brown; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt. Following the service Freda will lovingly be laid to rest at Adkins-Frye Cemetery at Little Harts Creek.
