Family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 8525 Mid-Cities Boulevard, North Richland Hills, TX 76182.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Forest Ridge Funeral Home. David will be interred with full military honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
David T. Fues was born on June 17, 1942, in Woodstock, IL, to Marguerite and Ernest Fues of Crystal Lake. During his high school years, David was a member of the A Capella Choir as well as a founding member of the popular Tombstone Trio folk singing, guitar-playing group that won many awards. David enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1960, served a tour of duty in Germany and received an honorable discharge in 1964. He began his long career with Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service in 1964 in Illinois, which involved a move to Arlington, TX, in May of 1976 with his four children. In 1997, David retired from Transamerica after 33 years and moved to Euless, TX, having time to focus on his love of guitar and piano music. His talents were well received when he frequently played piano and sang at a well-known Italian restaurant in Arlington.
David was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his wife, Marilyn, his parents, brother-in-law, Steve Ryan, and sister-in-law, Judy Fues.
David Fues is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Swiatkowski (Ray) of Dallas; daughter Natalie McGinley (Mike) of Richmond; daughter Stephanie Mitchell (Mark) of Aubrey; and son, Gregory Fues of Mansfield, 5 grandchildren, sister Nancy Hart (Woody) of Ames, IA, brother Barry Fues of Crystal Lake, IL, sister Jennifer Anderson (Randy) of Crystal Lake, IL, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
