Born in Syracuse, NY on January 14, 1943, Sister Kathleen was one of 7 children born to Gerald William and Elizabeth Ann (Hayes) Burke.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon and Patty; her brothers, Jerry and Michael; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her brother, William and her sister, Christine.
Sister Kathleen graduated from Cathedral High School in Syracuse, NY.
She entered the Community of the Daughters of Charity in August 1961.
She earned her bachelor’s degree with a concentration in education from St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg, MD.
Throughout her years in ministry, Sister Kathleen served in the field of education serving St. Joseph School, Holbrook, MA and many New York educational facilities during her remaining years of service.
She will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to be a recipient of her ministry, as the Sister who spoke softly and always had a smile.
On August 10, 2012, Sister Kathleen joined The Ministry of Prayer at St. Louise House, Menands, NY. She remained there until her death.
Burial following the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
