SSgt. Jason Daniel Woods, 42, of Nitro, WV, joined his father and brothers in arms on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

He was born in Charleston, WV, on November 29th, 1975. Following a family tradition, he served our country in the U.S. Army for 14 years completing three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and was decorated with three bronze stars. From injuries received in his military service, Jason was a disabled veteran, suffering from PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ansil and Virginia Woods, Leonard Burgess, and his father, Danny Woods.

Jason is survived by his sons, Raedon Woods, Brody Woods; daughter, Kylee Woods; grandmother, Audrey Burgess-Newhouse; his mother, Patty Burgess - Love - Woods; brothers, Kevin Love, Shawn Love; and sister, Shannon Conley.

A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV, with Pastor B. J. Roberts officiating.
