Ex-Produce Dealer Dies
John Alma Hess, 75, 214 W. 21st South, died at a Salt Lake hospital Saturday at 11 a.m. of causes incident to age.
Mr. Hess was born Aug. 15, 1870, in Georgetown, Ida., a son of David and Elizabeth Hess. He married Caroline Weingand in Montpelier, Ida., in 1903.
He filled an L D S mission in Germany and was a high priest in McKinley L D S ward. He taught school for 15 years and operated a produce business in Salt Lake from 1910 until the time of his retirement in 1943. His wife died in December, 1941.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Hess, Montpelier, Ida. and two half sisters, Hortense Grover of Salt Lake City, and Elizabeth Stoddard of Logan.
