Richard Evan “Rick” Gorby, 77, of Proctorville, Ohio, went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday October 28, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 3, 1941 in Ironton, Ohio to the late James “Arthur” and Adrienne Dillon Gorby. He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and attended Fairland schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of United Plumbing Inc. He was a member of Ohio Valley Lodge #536 F & AM. He was an avid tractor collector and loved going to tractor shows with Jason and Bryce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Gorby Payne; brother Larry Gorby; and sister-in-law Betty Gorby. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Lake Gorby; two children Brenda Gorby (Robert) Burcham and Jason (Shawna) Gorby; five grandchildren Keturah, Natasha, Kara, Bryce and Bryce and Leah; six great grandchildren Jaydon, Braxton, Addyson, Lexi, Lilly, and Josie; brother Victor Gorby; sister-in-law Janice Gorby; uncle John (Dara) Gorby; and several nieces and nephews and many special friends and buddies that he loved dearly. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jason Morris. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the funeral home.
