RIVER EDGE, N.J. - Albert Vincent Abdoo, 64, a claims manager for the Allstate Insurance Company, died Tuesday, July 11, 1989, at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis.
A past president of the Riverdell Football Parent Association, he was a former member of the River Edge Recreation Committee and St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in River Edge.
He served in the National Infantry (Ivy) Division in the United States Army during World War II, and was decorated with the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.
Mr. Abdoo received his bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University in 1948, and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1960.
He was born Jan. 19, 1925 in Poughkeepsie to Assid and Rumsa Abdoo.
He married Nance Petro, who survives at home. Other survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Abdoo; two daughters, Petra Witerberg and Alicia Vincetia Abdoo; two brothers, John Abdoo and Fred Abdoo; four sisters, Mary Abdoo, Gemile Marrone, Freda Abdoo, and Hannah Abdoo; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 5th Ave., River Edge. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
