Elvin Q. Willard, 87, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his residence in Henderson, TN. He was born June 14, 1931, on Pontotoc County to Guy Hubbard and Edna Castleberry Willard. He was a retired brick layer. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at United Funeral Service with Bro. Donnie Schumann and Bro. Tony Polk officiating. Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife: Sue Reaves Willard; 2 daughters: Shelia Johnson (Bradley) of Mantachie and Susan Moody of Cordova, TN.; 3 sons: Jackie Willard (Kathy) of New Albany, Mitch Thompson (Rita) of Myrtle, and Anthony Moody (Christy) of Luray, TN.; 1 sister: Euree McAlexander (Lewis) of New Albany; 10 grandchildren: Heath Crawley (Alana), Brian Crawley (Tiffany), Shane Crawley (Amy), Jacklyn Payne, David Thompson (Danielle), Lawanda Thompson, Mark Jordan (Mauri), Jason Jordan, Jamie Cain (Logan), and Tony Moody; 16 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law: Mitchell Kirk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter: Debbie Kirk; 5 sisters; 10 brothers; 1 grandchild; and 1 great-grandchild.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The American Legion will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.
In honor of Mr. Willard's service to his country United Funeral Service will fly the U. S. Army flag during his visitation and service.
