He was born December 25, 1937 in Forsyth County to Mayme Dowell Brinegar and Don Orton Brinegar.
Mr. Brinegar was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon.
He retired from Time Warner Cable and was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Tuttle Brinegar.
Surviving are his daughter, Teri Brinegar; his son, Jerry Don “Donnie” Brinegar, Jr. (Tanya); four grandchildren, Meredith Summey (Scott), Matthew Brinegar, Alyssa Emerson and Alie Brinegar; one sister, Vicki Brinegar VanBuren and four nephews, Craig, Brett, Scott and Derek Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Dr. Guy Hipp officiating. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
