1961-2018
Clay passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018.
He was born on April 1, 1961, in Norfolk, to Wayne and Faye Brewer Austin. Clay was raised on the family farm and attended rural school before graduating from Tilden High School in 1980.
On Aug. 14, 1982, Clay married Beverly Thoms at Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison. In their 36 years of marriage, they had two sons, Kip and Nik.
Clay farmed and ranched with his family. He had a love for the country life and working with his livestock, which included horses, cattle and goats. His passion was his faith, family and friends. He made plenty of time to spend and travel with his spouse. Clay totally enjoyed hunting with his boys and friends. His hunting trips reached from Alaska to Hawaii and trophies that included bear, deer, bobcat, antelope, ibex, coyote and more. He enjoyed going on many stagecoach travels, which were a reenactment of the old west.
Clay is survived by his spouse, Beverly; their two sons of Norfolk, Kip Austin and Nik Austin, along with his girlfriend, Morgan Stover; his parents, Wayne and Faye Austin of Norfolk; his two brothers and their spouses, Dallas and Barb Austin of Meadow Grove and Troy and Ann Austin of Norfolk; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his grandparents, his mother-in-law and his father-in-law.
The family welcomes “cowboy” attire to all in attendance.
