He was born on April 13, 1948 in Pink, WV, the son of the late Edgar J. and Helen Irene Crislip Raines.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He had worked as a independent truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing with his nephews, carpentry and could fix almost anything.
Robert is survived by his wife Lisa Kaye Myers Raines, daughter Marsha Raines of Panama City, FL, step son Dylan Dayhaw, Kanawha City, WV, step daughter Carly Salmons of Parkersburg, brothers Nelson D. Raines (Bernice) of Dallas, Terry A. Raines (Angie) of Williamstown, sisters Deborah J. Corry (Phil) of Columbus, Robin S. Bailey (Greg) of Sissonville, sister in law Bonnie Raines of Pennington, KY, and grandchildren Zachary Freeman, Gabriel Freeman, Brittany Bayless and Kayla Raines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Chris Raines and brother Gary L. Raines.
Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Darren Alkire officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 on Tuesday prior to the service.
