Joe R. Arnold - Age 71, beloved husband, father, and Joe Daddy, long-time resident of Nashville, TN and current resident of Naples, FL, passed away on the 4th of September 2013, in Brentwood, TN. He was born in Lubbock, TX, on the 19th of June 1942 and was raised in San Angelo, TX. Son of Joan Lamb Arnold McGee and Marvin C. Arnold and stepson of Wiley McGee, all deceased. Brother of Marvin C. Arnold, Jr. (deceased) and Chris A. Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Arnold; son, Bret Arnold and his wife Virginia; daughter, Brenda Pannell and her husband Don; daughter, Becky Sullivan and her husband C. Dale, Jr.; grandchildren, Anna Jeanine, Rebecca Page, and Virginia Joan Sullivan; his children's mother, Jeanine Arnold Pritchard; and Carson and Timothy Byrnes.

Joe was a 1964 Graduate of Texas Tech University matriculating with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting. He was also a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Beta Alpha Psi honorary accounting fraternity while at Texas Tech. After college, he served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1966 until 1972. His career spanned from his association as a CPA with Arthur Anderson & Co. in Dallas, TX to becoming a Chief Financial Officer of several mid-sized consumer products manufacturing companies in Middle TN. He was also instrumental in a successful leveraged buyout of CPS Industries, Inc. in Franklin, TN. After the sale of CPS, he formed Charlton Enterprises, Inc., serving as Chairman and CEO while also serving on the Boards of Directors of Charlton's portfolio companies until his retirement in 2007.

During his career, he was affiliated with the Texas Society of CPA's, the Tennessee Society of CPA's, the American Institute of CPA's, the Financial Executives Institute (while serving as President of the Nashville Chapter and as the Director of the National FEI), the Tennessee Republican Party, the State Executive Committee, the State Treasurer (serving as a delegate to the Republican National Conventions, in 1988, 1992, and 1996, the Williamson County Republican Party (serving as Treasurer), the Rotary Club in Franklin, TN, Harpeth Academy in Franklin, TN (serving as Board Chairman), and the United Way of Williamson County (serving as President).

He will also be remembered as an avid sailor and golfer, and for his volunteer work in Naples, FL, volunteering as a SCORE Business Counselor, and for his assistance with Meals on Wheels delivery. To those who knew him well, from his family and closest friends who loved him so, to his memberships and many associations within Grey Oaks and Richland Country Clubs, the Percy Priest Yacht Club, the Gulf Coast Sailing Club, along with his connection and ties with the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, his memory will continue on in the hearts and minds of many whose lives he touched throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Ave, Nashville, TN, the morning of Saturday, the 7th of September 2013 at eleven-thirty with a time of visitation held for family and friends beginning at ten o'clock.
