She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Forstner; her parents; and her daughter, Monica Forstner, in infancy; her sister, Lorene Wurtzberger; and her brother, Ray Kral.
Evelyn A. Kral was born August 13, 1931 to Lorenz and Martha (Braulick) Kral in Lake Hanska Township. Shortly after high school, Evelyn married the love of her life, Gene Forstner, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The couple was blessed with 8 children. She lived and raised her children and grandchildren in the farmhouse where she was born. Her home was rich with love and warmth. Her love manifested in the kitchen, where she cooked up many fabulous dishes, one of the grandchildren’s favorite being waffles & whipped cream.
Evie was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold and a compassionate strength. She lived her life lead by her faith. She worked non-stop on the farm, tending to calves, chickens, and farm animals. She raised her children and welcomed each new beautiful grandchild. Evie was the epitome of grace. She was a woman very accepting of others, a gift she shared with her children and grandchildren who she taught the virtues of healing and forgiveness.
Evie loved to laugh and had a loving sense of humor, often saying about life, “you have to have fun.” She enjoyed her card club friends, along with trips to the casino where she earned her fair share of jackpots. Evie was an avid and knowledgeable fan of Minnesota’s sports teams. This stemmed from her attendance of children and grandchildren sporting events.
Evie’s beautiful legacy will live on in the generations of souls she imprinted with her love.
