age 82, of Canton, died Sept. 7, 2014 while vacationing with his family. He was born March 24, 1932 in East Liverpool, Ohio, son to the late George W. and Gladys (Peterson) Betz. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired from Republic Storage Systems. He was a member of Sandyville United Methodist Church and had been active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha A. (Shepard) Betz and three sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Penny, Nancy, Mary, and Kristi; sons, Robert, Dwight, James and Allen Jr. and grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Erica, Kasha and Shanee Betz, Chelsey Costello and Rachel and Charlie Stender; three great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.
Memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Sandyville United Methodist Church, 11228 West Ave. Sandyville, Ohio 44671, with a luncheon immediately following.
