Floyd, Helen Lorraine Hoke, 93, joined her family members to start her eternal heavenly life on May 9, 2021. She was born in Glen Allen, Va. to James Dorsey and Katie MaraLena Thorpe Hoke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Tatabug" Floyd; son, Joseph "Bubba" Floyd Jr.; sisters, Gladys Kitchen, Maria Scott, Lelya Sampson and Jaqueline Hoke; brother, Marion Hoke; and fiancé and soulmate, Charlie E. Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Floyd Scott and Carolyn L. Floyd Faivre (Richard); daughter-in-law, Donna; grandchildren, Dawn Faivre Deans (David), Ronald Lee Swisher, Dwight Rutherford, Brian M. Floyd (Amanda) and Adam C. Floyd (Emily); great-grandchildren, Timothy Allen Deans (Morgan), Dylan Deans, Ty Floyd, Kate Floyd, Mazie Floyd and Sadie Floyd; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon Deans and Adelaide Deans; siblings, Elsworth Hoke and Carolyn Clark; and best sister-in-law and true friend all of her married life and beyond, Rose Floyd. Helen's godmother was Mrs. A.H. Nolde of Nolde's Bread, whom she was named after. Helen attended the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a lifetime member of the VFWA Ladies Auxillary 2239, The DAV #50 Ladies Auxillary and was a dedicated and recognized volunteer at McGuire VA Hospital for 30 years. She loved every day of assisting the veterans, even in their final hours. A graveside ceremony will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery 4000 Pilots Lane Henrico Va. 23222. Helen requested no flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia Foundation in memory of her son, Joseph William Floyd Jr.
