Phyllis Wehrmann, 80, of South Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

She was born on December 25, 1937 to the late Walter E. and Mildred Pitchford Black in South Charleston, West Virginia. She was a graduate of South Charleston High School class of 1955. She graduated from Business College in Charleston and worked for R.A. Mueller and Marshall University College of Graduate Studies as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 60 years and was a long-time member of the South Charleston Women’s Club and the South Charleston Eastern Star. She was also a member of the South Charleston Museum and participated in many events with the South Charleston Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Rock Lake Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Helmut Wehrmann.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Wehrmann of South Charleston, son, Jeff (Linda) Wehrmann of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Hannah and Eric Wehrmann; and her four legged friend, Hopy.

A service to Honor the Life of Phyllis will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston with Rev. Richard McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Family and Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. Charleston, WV 25387.
