Rev. Fred Leon Herring, age 87, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Rev. Herring was born April 1, 1931, in Thomaston to the late Tommy Sanford and Mary Thelma Herring. He retired as Pastor of First Easton Baptist Church, Easton Maryland. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Thomaston, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Denise Davis; and son, Fredrick David Herring. Survivors are his wife, LaRose Herring; son Timothy Glen (Kimberly) Herring; brother, Henry Avery (Sandra) Herring; grandchildren, Samuel Elijah Davis, Jesse Ryan Herring, and Braden Timothy Herring.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday October 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Saturday October 20, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
