Edward James "Teddy" Bonner Jr., 48, was born to eternal life on Oct. 23, 2018.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D. St., Belmar, N.J. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 424 Lincoln Ave., Avon-by-the-Sea, N.J.
Teddy was born and raised in Elizabeth, N.J., and Avon-by-the-Sea. He lived in Phoenix, Ariz., for many years before returning to the Jersey Shore in 2016.
He graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 1988 and earned a B.S. in accounting from St. Peter's University.
Teddy was the strategic national account manager at Eaton Corp. for 12 years. Prior to that he was sourcing manager at Avaya Corp. for eight years.
He loved playing hockey, cycling, and music. He was a fierce friend, a steadfast Bonner, and the most faithful dad.
Teddy is survived by his son, Edward James "Trace" Bonner III; his parents, Edward and Ann Bonner; his siblings, James Bonner, Brian and Maura Bonner, Mary and Edward Guenther, Richard Bonner, and Ann and K.C. O'Brien; his dearest friend, Samantha Hammer; his nieces, Tara Bonner, Erin Bonner, Catherine Bonner, Maeve Guenther, and Charlotte O'Brien, and his nephews, Finbar Bonner, Michael Bonner, Teddy Guenther, Peter Guenther, and George Guenther.
To quote a friend, Teddy was "universally loved." We will always carry his luminous smile in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Seton Hall Prep, Teddy Bonner Hockey Scholarship Fund, 120 Northfield Ave., West Orange, N.J. 07052.
