Leslie Mae Edwards:

Leslie Mae Cannell Edwards, 96, of Fulton, Missouri passed away on October 27, 2018 at Fulton Manor Care Center in Fulton, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Teusday, October 30, 2018, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with the Reverend Guy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Richland Baptist Church in Kingdom City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service.

Lessie Mae was born March 12, 1922, in New Florence, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Hamilton) Scott. She was married to Charles W. Cannell on September 16, 1940 in Mexico, Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1963.

Lessie Mae was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton where she had been a teacher in the Girls Auxiliary. She had worked for many years at the Fulton State Hospital until her retirement. After retiring she served in the Foster Grandparent Program at the hospital.

Lessie Mae enjoyed traveling and dancing but she especially loved to visit her family and friends and everyone will always remember that she gave them hugs and kisses.

Lessie Mae is survived by one son, William Cannell (Wanda) of Fulton; two daughters, Barbara Christopher (Cecil) of Louisiana, Missouri and Delores Caldwell Rogers of Rayne, Louisiana; one sister, Marie McGinnis of Illinois; ten grandchildren, one step-grandchild, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Scottie, Roy, Johnny and Clarence Scott; two sisters, Peggy Oberkrom and Shirley Ridgel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Southside Baptist Church in Fulton.
