There is a hole in my heart that I know in this life I will never be able to fill.
It is said that no parent should live to experience the death of a child. It is also said that certain children are born with certain gifts that set them apart, as if they have one foot in the here and now & one foot in the next - Heather was one of those children.
Heather was a gifted, extremely bright, and beautiful child. She was the only blue eyed blond in the nursery at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ in 1972. Bright, gifted, precocious!
The family moved to “the shore” where her father, Dennis, had met her mother, Maureen, at the “Osprey” and just as Nathaniel had remarked “can anything good come from Nazareth”, only to be proven wrong, Dennis and Maureen soon married and have remained so for 48 wonderful years. Heather was soon followed by her sisters, Vanessa and Lauren, and her brother William. All strategically 4 and one half years apart [tuition babies].
Heather was not only bright but a gifted athlete. She was selected first team All State in tennis and as a member of the Red Bank Catholic Tennis dynasty was selected as a member of the Red Bank Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame.
She received her BA from Rutgers University. She trained as a Physician’s assistant but changed careers when she married and taught Physics and Biology at Manalapan High School for 18 years. She had recently decided to obtain her Masters.
