October 31, 1950 October 24, 2018 Darrell Dewaine Payne (Paw) of Dublin, Va., On October 24, 2018 Darrell went to his Heavenly Home receiving his Devine Healing while surrounded by his family and friends. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him during his final struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Darrell was born in Jolo, W.Va. on October 31, 1950 to William Hufford Payne and the late Nora Prater Payne. Darrell was one of seven children, Donna Elledge, Janice Givens, Jacky Payne (Darlene), Pat Kirk, Monica Evans (Buddy) and Marcena Williams (Mickey). Darrell was blessed with a loving family and faithful friends. He married his soul-mate Jacqueline Simpson Payne on October 17, 1970 in Belsprings, Va. Darrell devoted his life to his family and the Fairlawn Church of God where he served as an Elder, sound technician and assistant director of the annual Easter drama. His passion for building was evident to anyone who visited his home. He was always willing to help others with their projects no matter how big or how small. Darrell leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife of 48 years; his daughters and their husbands Melissa and Jay Linkous and Chanda and Johnny Reece; his six grandchildren, Kayla Angle and her husband Jake, Brandon Reece and his fiancé Megan Kapalin, Erica Anderson, Matthew Reece, Andrew Reece and Alex Reece; two step-grandchildren, Faith and Cody Linkous; mother-in-law, Gertrude Simpson; sister-in-law, Sandi Joseph and a special family friend, Lisa Linkous and many neices and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Fairlawn Church of God in Radford, Va. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Marcus Harrison officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Fairlawn Church of God to help fund funeral expenses.
